In 2010 Unibank increased its plastic cards by 66%
ArmInfo. In 2010 Unibank increased the number of its plastic cards by 66%. The press service of Unibank told ArmInfo that at present the number of cards issued by Unibank is 63 thsd, 51 thsd of them being international Visa cards.
According to Director for Retail Business Development of Unibank Mesrop Hakobyan, all the card products of the bank - "Interest-free", "Preferential 50", "U-100" or "U-Buy" are client-oriented and are very popular thanks to their competitive advantages in the market. "The year 2010 became crucial for us in development of card business. Investments here exceeded 1 mln USD. The year 2011 will be more active in terms of launch of new products", he said.
At the same time, Unibank acquired 120 mobile POS-terminals with the GPRS function, which will be installed mostly in the regions of Armenia. Thereby, the problem of low-quality communication and equipment of trade outlets in the remote regions of the country will be solved. At present the bank has 658 operating POS-terminals and 74 bancomats.
