Starting March 2011 pensioners to be able to receive pensions by plastic cards of VTB Bank (Armenia)

VTB Bank (Armenia) has signed an agreement on non-cash payment of pensions by banking accounts or plastic cards with the State Social Security Service of the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Issues. The press service of VTB Bank (Armenia), starting March 2011 pensioners will be able to receive their pensions by the plastic cards of VTB Bank (Armenia).
According to the source, the pensioners will be offered two types of packages: "Pension Privilege" and "Pension Standard", within the frames of which Visa plastic cards will be provided to pensioners free of charge. These cards will allow making use of the bank's service on special terms. In case of making payments by means of the cards, the pensioners will receive allowances in medical and dental centers, optics stores and drugstores, as well as in the sales and service offices of the bank's partners.
Pensioners will be able to receive their pensions at any ATM serving Visa cards. Alongside with this, pensioners will have an opportunity to accumulate their money funds on the card accounts and receive interests. To receive a pension by the card, pensioners should apply to any branch of VTB Bank (Armenia) and sign an agreement.
VTB Bank (Armenia) CJSC has become a participant in VTB international financial group in April 2004. At present, VTB Bank OJSC, the second largest bank in Russia, owns 100% of shares of VTB Bank (Armenia). The bank traditionally occupies the leading positions in the banking system of Armenia by a number of key parameters. At the moment VTB Bank (Armenia) has the largest branch network in the country: 68 branches where 44 thsd pensioners are served. As of 1 October 2010 the bank had 58 ATMs, of them 31 in Yerevan, and 27 in the regions of Armenia. According to Armenian Card, as of 1 Dec 2010, there were 221 ATMs serving Visa cards in Armenia.
