Areximbank-Gazprombank Group intends to introduce new card projects in 2011
ArmInfo. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group intends to introduce new card projects in 2011. The press service of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group told ArmInfo that the matter concerns emission of ArCa cards, communal payments from the card account via mobile telephones, as well as round-the-clock money transfers between Russia and Armenia via the plastic cards of Areximbank and Russian Gazprombank.
According to the source, the bank has already launched the projects "System Telecard", communal payments via the bank's ATMs, card-to-card money transfers via the bank's ATMs. In 2010 the number of payment cards issued by Areximbank-Gazprombank Group increased by 30,6 % to 75315, and the volume of operations with the bank's cards grew by 45,75%.
To note, the sole shareholder of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC is Gazprombank OJSC (Russia). It is a principal member of the international payment systems VISA (since 2002) and MasterCard International (since 2005), as well as a member of the local payment system ArCa (since 2009) with the status of a serving bank. In 2009 the bank completed the migration of its own processing center to the processing center Gazprombank OJSC (Russia). Areximbank-Gazprombank Group was the first Armenian bank to introduce the service of ordering international plastic cards on-line. As of 1 Jan 2011, the number of the bank's ATMs was 44, and POS-terminals - 128.
