Converse Bank presents Woman's Cards to women
ArmInfo. Today Converse Bank announced the issue of Woman's Card payment cards designed jointly with the MasterCard international payment system and having no analogues in Armenia. According to Executive Director of Converse Bank Tigran Davtyan, the new card project has been elaborated for women only and contains all the functional characteristics of payment cards.
The unprecedentedness of the Woman's Cards is its womanish "design" with the image of an Armenian woman's profile. The holders of the new cards will be able to make use of the discount systems worked out specially for women at 160 trade outlets and service centers: various stores, beauty shops, SPA centers and medical centers. Moreover, the Woman's Card holders will be able to make use the internet banking service of Converse Bank free of charge.
Over 50 women already have Woman's Cards since March 8 up to now. In total, the bank is going to issue at least 5,000 Woman's Cards. The bank will also prepare a number of other new interesting card projects this year, as a result of which the total number of the bank's active cards will increase by 20%, including due to the issue of new salary cards, the share of which in the total number of cards is nearly 30% today.
During the press conference the regional director of MasterCard pointed out that such a product is issued in Armenia for the first time. There is a similar product in France. The volume of noncash payments of MasterCard payment system grew by about 10% in 2010. The bank said that though the cards are timed to the Women's Day, however, they are not seasonal cards.
To recall, in 2010 Converse Bank announced an unprecedented discount system (by 2-30%) for the holders of ArCa, Visa, MasterCard cards, and the system aimed to create convenient conditions for its clients at more than 300 trade outlets and service centers. A special discount system operates for the holders of Visa Classic, Visa Gold, Visa Platinum cards.
According to the review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" prepared by ArmInfo specialists, as of 1 October 2010 Converse Bank was in top ten of the banks. As of this date, about 17 thsd of the total number of active cards of Converse Bank (38.3 thsd, 28% annual growth) were local ArCa cards, over 18 thsd – Visa cards, and about 4 thsd – MasterCard. The number of ATMs of Converse Bank was 46, most of them in Yerevan, and the number of POS-terminals was 501, of them 159 (almost 40% annual growth) were own POS-terminals of the bank, and 342 joint ones.
