BSTDB to finance another 5-7 new programmes at 50 mln EUR in Armenia
ArmInfo. The BSTDB hopes to find and finance another 5-7 new investments programmes in Armenia at 50 mln EUR over the next 4 years, chairman of the bank, Andrey Kondakov, told journalists today. He also added that the details of the strategical partnership with the Armenian government is being discussed at present.
It is very much possible that the BSTDB will finance a programme in the sphere of real estate. Kondakov did not present its details but said that it is very much important for Armenia.
He positively assessed the investment sector of Armenia and said the tendencies in the Armenian economy inspires him optimism.
"Since sharp falling of the GDP, positive rates of the economical growth have been noticed in the country, which will continue growing this year", - he said.
He also added that the Armenian government has implemented the important steps on reduction of the budget deficit, but inflation still remains a serious problem for the country. The business environment has been improving in Armenia, he said and added that the work with local companies is being simplified.
To note, at present the share of Armenia in the capital of BSTDB is 1%, and 5% in the assets portfolio of the bank. The BSTDB's mission is mainly to stimulate economic development of the shareholder-states. Armenia has been cooperation with BSTDB since the moment of its creation. The bank finances the SME sector, industry and financial sector in Armenia.
