Money supply in Armenia up 2.1% to $2.4 billion for Feb 2011
ArmInfo. Money supply in Armenia was up 2.1% to 894.4 billion drams ($2.4 billion) for Feb 2011 and up 12% as compared with Feb 2010.
Preliminary data of the Armenian Central Bank provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia say that cash circulated out of the banking system grew 0.4% in Feb 2011 (8.7% annual growth) to 276.5 billion drams. The share of deposits in terms of the Armenian dram in total money supply was 24.4% or 218.5 billion drams. The share of foreign deposits was 44.6% or 399.3 billion drams.
External assets were down 15.6% to 153.5 billion drams (over twofold annual decline). Internal assets grew by 6.7% in Feb 2011 (63.5% annual growth) to 740.9 billion drams. In the structure of internal assets, liabilities to the government proved at the negative level of 70.2 billion drams (up 20.2% in Feb).
In addition, the share of economy was 1.014 trillion drams (up 2.8% for Feb). The share of organizations was 570.9 billion drams (up 3.1% in Feb) and the share of non- commercial enterprises was 13.9 billion drams (up 4.3% in Feb). The share of households was 414.4 billion AMD (up 2.6% in Feb).
