Chairman of Armenian Central Bank: Inflation in April not to exceed 10%
ArmInfo. The annual inflation will be one-digit or will come closer to 10% in April, Chairman of the Armenian Central Bank forecasted to reporters after a discussion with the Armenian president on Thursday. He recalled that in March the annual inflation totaled 11.5%.
In late 2011 inflation will be half as much as in early 2011, he said. "If the world market developments are left unchanged and we register the growth envisaged in the agrarian sector, inflation may be even lower than in early 2011," Javadyan said.
As for the indicators in the banking system of Armenia, the head of the Central Bank said that even in the crisis year 2009 banks overcame the difficulties with honor. "We have been registering upward trends on all indicators over the last years," Javadyan said. He highlighted that the banking system of Armenia is rather developed, transparent and regulated.
Touching upon the situation with remittances, he said that in Jan-Mar 2011 versus the same period of 2010 the net inflow of remittances grew 25% and inflow - 35%.
A. Javadyan is sure that in the current year the macroeconomic stability will be retained and rather good indicators will be registered in the financial system.
