12 banks join list of top 100 large taxpayers of Armenia
ArmInfo. At the end of Q1 2011, 12 commercial banks of Armenia joined the list of top 100 out of 500 large taxpayers of the country.
According to the State Tax Service of Armenia, VTB Bank (Armenia) became the first bank on the list by the amount of taxes paid over Q1 2011. The bank paid a total of 576.9 mln AMD, of which 538.5 mln AMD was the profit tax and income tax, and occupied the 24th position in the top 100 taxpayers. ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank ranks next (30th position) with a total of 484.4 mln AMD, of which 439.3 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax.
Ardshininvestbank occupied the 42nd position with 347.1 mln AMD, of which 292.1 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax. Unibank held the 47th position with 317 mln AMD, of which 298.6 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax. HSBC Bank Armenia occupied the 50th place, having paid 302.2 mln AMD, of which 235.6 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax.
The list of the top 100 large taxpayers also includes ArmBusinessBank (52nd position - a total of 298 mln AMD, of which 276 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax), Ameriabank (54th position - a total of 297.3 mln AMD, of which 276.1 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax), Anelik Bank (67th position - a total of 250.7 mln AMD, of which 228.8 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax), Converse Bank (73rd position - a total of 236.7 mln AMD, of which 180.8 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax), Mellat Bank (88th position - a total of 192.6 mln AMD, of which 188 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax), Armeconombank (90th position - a total of 185.1 mln AMD, of which 136.4 mln AMD profit tax and income tax), and INECOBANK (100th position - a total of 164.7 mln AMD, of which 158.9 mln AMD being profit tax and income tax).
In the meanwhile, the list of top 500 large taxpayers includes Areximbank-Gazprombank Group (117th position), ARARATBANK (130th position), Armenian Development Bank (157th position), ProCredit Bank (164th position), ArmSwissBank (188th position), Prometey Bank (192nd position), and Byblos Bank Armenia (357th position).
As of 1 April 2011 there were 21 commercial banks in Armenia.
