By the end of this year Unibank to launch 50 more ATMs
ArmInfo. Unibank is actively enlarging its ATM network. In 2011 it is planning to launch 50 new machines. As a result, by the end of the year it will have a total of 120 ATMs.
The press service of Unibank reports that as of June 1 2011 the bank had 69,106 cards (57.4% more than a year before): 53,163 were Visas, 15,943 - local ArCa cards.
Almost 90% of the cards are credit cards. Unibank's cards can be used for paying tuition and covering medical, travelling, insurance and purchase expenses. The bank also offers U-Buy cards for purchasing goods and services and cashing money. The maximum amount of the credit is 1mln AMD, the repayment period - 2 years, the annual interest - 22% (for the spent amount only).
According to ArmInfo's Armenian Banks in Card Business review, as of Apr 1 2011 Unibank was among the five biggest card issuers with almost 69,000 active cards and the second biggest Visa card issuer - about 54,000 cards. The bank has 638 POS terminals and 71 ATMs (43 in Yerevan, 2 cash-in ATMs). Unibank already has own processing center, which is operating in pilot regime and will offer a bonus loyalty program with unique card products.
