Real effective exchange rate dropped by 3.7% in April 2011
ArmInfo. The real effective exchange rate in Armenia dropped by 3.7% in April 2011 and by 7.4% in Jan-Apr, having totaled 128.5, the monthly reference of the Central Bank of Armenia says.
At the same time, in April 2011 versus April 2010 the decline of the real effective exchange rate made up 4.6%. To recall, over 2010 reduction in this index was fixed in March, July, August, September and October, and growth was registered in February, April, May, June, November and December.
In the meanwhile, the nominal effective exchange rate in April 2011 versus March dropped by 3.4%, and versus December 2010 – by 9.2%, having totaled 211.4. In April 2011 as compared with April 2010 the nominal effective exchange rate rose by 0.8%. Reduction in the nominal effective exchange rate in 2010 was fixed in March, July, August, October, and growth was fixed in February, May, June, September, November and December. Over the first four months of 2011 reduction in the real effective and nominal effective exchange rate was fixed in February, March and April.
