Money supply in Armenia up 2.7% to $2.5 billion for May 2011
ArmInfo. Money supply in Armenia was up 2.7% to 948.5 bln drams ($2.5 billion) for May 2011 (up 4% for Jan-May 2011) as of June 1 2011.
Preliminary data of the Armenian Central Bank provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia say that cash circulated out of the banking system grew 3.1% in May 2011, and down 3.4% for Jan-May to 294 billion drams. The share of deposits in terms of the Armenian dram in total money supply was 24.5% or 232.4 billion drams. The share of foreign deposits was 44.5% or 422 billion drams.
External assets were down 37.7% over May 2011 to 58.08 billion drams (down over threefold for Jan ). Internal assets grew 7.3% in May and 24.7% for Jan-May 2011.
In the structure of internal assets, liabilities to the government proved at the negative level of 50.5 billion drams (up 10.3% in May). In addition, the share of economy was 1.137 trillion drams (up 4.2% for May). The share of organizations was 650 billion drams (up 4.6% in May) and the share of non-commercial enterprises was 13 billion drams (down 2.4% for May).
