ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank has become second biggest shareholder of Armenian Card
ArmInfo. ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank has become the second biggest shareholder of Armenian Card national processing system after the Central Bank of Armenia.
According to CEO of ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank Stepan Gishyan, the bank has increased its share due to DPO that took place June 12 2011. All shareholders took part in it. ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank has bought 4 new shares and now holds more than 5% of ArCa's capital.
ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank is the most active player of the ArCa system - 20% of all transactions. In 2010 the amount of the bank's transactions with ArCa cards exceeded 85bln AMD. The bank has issued 15% of all ArCa cards. As of June 1 2011 it had issued 50,500 ArCa cards, 35,000 Visas and 17,000 MasterCards. The bank has 120 ATMs and 1,500 POS-terminals.
Since 2009 ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank has been exclusive representative of American Express in Armenia.
According to ArmInfo, the third biggest ArCa shareholders after the Central Bank and ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank are Armeconombank and Ardshininvestbank.
