USD loans provided by Armenian banks up over 2fold and AMD loans up 1.5% over week
ArmInfo. Armenian banks lent 26.3 billion AMD (up 1.5% over week) and USD45 million (up over 2fold) over the past week (July 11-17), Armenian Central Bank told ArmInfo.
The source reported that over the current week (July 18-22) in the inter-bank currency market (transactions with customers) banks purchased $88.9 million at the average exchange rate of 366.01 AMD/1USD and sold $89.5 million at the average exchange rate of 367.2 AMD/1USD.
Foreign exchange purchase and sale in the inter-bank market for July 18-22 totaled $18.850 million at the average exchange rate of 368.09 AMD/1 USD. The biggest volume of transactions were registered on July 19 - $7.3 mln and July 22 - $5.3 million.
In the interbank market purchase and sale operations totaled $2.050 million (up 2fold) at the average exchange rate of 366.78 AMD/US$1.
As of April 1 2011 the aggregate credit portfolio of commercial banks of Armenia totaled $2.8 billion or 1.043 trillion drams, the growth over the Q1 2011 was 4.2% versus 11% growth for Q4 2010 and 6.7% growth for Q1 2010. The growth per annum was 27.2%.
