Annual growth of UNISTREAM turnover in Armenia makes up 30%
ArmInfo. Over the first half of 2011 versus the first half of 2010, the turnover of UNISTREAM system in Armenia grew by 28.7% to $277.4 million, the press service of Unibank told ArmInfo. He number of transfers over the period under review exceeded 361.6 thousand, having increased by 12.6%. By late 2011, it is envisaged to increase UNISTREAM turnover in Armenia to $670 mln by ensuring 12.2% annual growth.
According to the source, the tariffs of UNISTREAM money transfers begin from 0.35%. The system has a function of addressless transfers, which allows the customers to receive money at all the branches of Unibank regardless of the destination point of the transfer. UNISTREAM also has a wide geography - nearly 100 countries.
The turnover of UNISTREAM transfers annually rose by 29% to $2.04 billion, and the number of the transactions rose by 18%. At the same time, the system handled over 3.2 million transfers. The number of partners as of late June 2011 made up 367. On the whole, the network grew to 220 thousand points. A present, over 700 thousand customers have the universal cards of UNISTREAM.
In general, 65% of the transfers are made with cards. The cards provide an opportunity to accelerate the procedure of remittance. In order to create most convenient conditions for the customers, UNISTREAM leadership took a decision to provide the relevant cards to the remittees as well. The remittees can present the UNISTREAM card without any procedures and receive the amount transferred to him/her.
"Our customers demand newer approaches. The matter does not only concern flexible tariffs. Today we speak of innovative ways of sales, a wide spectrum of products and new ideas in terms of quality and convenience. This makes us even more competitive, and UNISTREAM management's all efforts pursue that goal today", said President of UNISTREAM system Souren Ayriyan.
To recall, operating in Armenia via its exclusive partner Unibank since the second half of 2002, UNISTREAM has been in the lead in the Armenian market of money transfers. UNISTREAM transfers in Armenia are made at all the 37 branches of Unibank in Armenian drams, US dollars, euros, and Russian rubles.
