Deposits in Armenian banks up 3,7% - to 785.7 bln drams for June

The volume of deposits attracted by commercial banks of Armenia increased by 3,7% (by 25,5% as against June 2010, and by 11,8% for January-June), having amounted to 785.7 bln drams ($2.1 bln) as of 1 July 2011. In the structure of the attracted deposits the share of the dram deposits was 30,2% or 237.2 bln drams ($643 mln), and the share of foreign currency deposits - 69,8% or $1.486 bln (548.5 bln drams). The share of the dram deposits in the total volume of deposits did not change in June.
According to the preliminary data of Armenian Central Bank, the share of the deposits attracted from residents was 17% or 133.4 bln drams (growth by 11,2% for June). In their structure the dram deposits for June grew by 3,7% up to 8.9 bln drams, and the volume of foreign currency deposits grew by 11,7% and amounted to 124.5 bln drams.
The share of deposits from residents was 83,01% or 652.2 bln drams out of the total volume of deposits, 228.3 bln drams of which - the dram deposits and 423.9 bln drams - foreign currency deposits. In the structure of deposits attracted from residents the share of the call deposits was 37,5% or 244.7 bln drams, and the share of the time deposits - 62,5% or 407.5 bln drams.
As of 1 July 2011 the balance deposits of population amounted to 406.4 bln drams, having increased by 3% as against May and by 35,3% as against 1 July 2010.
