AMD and USD loans provided by Armenian banks have weekly grew by 43.8% and 4% respectively
ArmInfo. On 25-31 July Armenian banks provided loans worth 28.4 bln AMD (4% weekly growth) and $70.5 mln (43.8% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over 2-6 August the banks bought $85.1 mln at the average exchange rate of 364.89 AMD/$1, and sold $96.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 365.48 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $1.8 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 365.37 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 2 to 5 August.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $11.450 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 366.24 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 2 August - $5.3 mln and 4 August - $3.7 mln.
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since the beginning of 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011 alone, and the annual growth made up 40.6%.
