Aug 1-7 Armenian banks issued 2.7 times less USD loans than a week before
ArmInfo. Aug 1-7 2011 Armenia's commercial banks issued AMD loans worth 25.3bln AMD (10.9% less than a week before) and USD loans worth $26.1mln (2.7 times less).
The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia reports that Aug 8-12 2011 on the intra-bank foreign exchange market the banks bought $97.069mln (14% more than a week before) at an average of 367.26 AMD/1 USD and sold $93.9mln (-2.8%) at 368.54 AMD/1 USD.
During the same period on the inter-bank foreign exchange market they bought and sold $1mln (1.8 times less than a week before) at 369 AMD/1 USD.
On NASDAQ OMX Armenia the amount of transactions totalled $20.450mln (1.7 times more than a week before) with the average exchange rate being 368.26 AMD/1 USD.
July 1 2011 the loan book of Armenia's banking system totalled 1.2trl AMD or $3.2bln - 17.8% more than Jan 1 2011, 9% more than Apr 1 2011 and 40.6% more than July 1 2010.
