In economy crediting foreign currency part grew by 58,9%, but dropped by 78,7% in the deposit portfolio
ArmInfo. In the total volume of crediting of the real sector of Armenia regarding the residents the share of foreign currency credits amounted to 58,9% by 1 July 2011, having grown by 2,3% since the beginning of the year, and by 6,4% versus the same period of 2010.
As Armenian Central Bank reported, as of 1 July 2011 the banking system delivered credits at 1111 bln drams ( growth by 17% versus December 2010), 1052 bln drams of which to the residents. The foreign currency credits amounted to 614.1 bln drams, chiefly the long-term ones placed in the industrial sector - 174.5 bln drams, trade sector - 156 bln drams and construction sector - 63.1 bln drams.
The share of the foreign currency deposits of residents was 45% in the money stock by 1 July 2011. It has grown by 2,2% since the beginning of the year, and by 2% versus the same period of 2010. In the total portfolio of deposits of residents the share of the foreign currency deposits was 65,1% by 1 July 2011. This was by 0,8% more than the December 2010 indicator and by 4,4% less that the May 2010 indicator.
The share of the foreign currency call deposits of residents was 57,3% by 1 July 2011. It has not changed versus December 2010, but dropped by 4,5% versus the same period of 2010.
In the portfolio of the time deposits of residents the share of the foreign currency deposits amounted to 78,7%, having reduced by 0,9% for the first five months of the current year, and by 3,6% versus May 2010.
According to the data of Armenian Central Bank, by 1 July 2011 the banking system of the country attracted deposits at 757.4 bln drams (growth by 7,8% since the beginning of the year), including from residents - 637.4 bln drams.
