In August 2011 nonfood items in Armenia dropped in price by 0.1%
ArmInfo. In August 2011 the nonfood items in Armenia dropped in price by 0.1%, by 1.9% in Jan-Aug.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia told ArmInfo that as compared with July 2011 the prices of footwear dropped by 3.1%, clothes - by 0.3%, furniture - by 0.2%, garden implements - by 0.2%, appliances - by 0.1%, detergents - by 0.1%, works of art - by 0.1%. At the same time, in August the prices of kitchen implements grew by 0.1%, textile - by 0.3%, fuel - by 0.6%, medicaments - by 0.7%, stationery by 1.6%, jewelry - by 7.3%, and the prices of carpets and building materials underwent no changes in August.
In August versus July, petroleum and diesel fuel grew in price by 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. At the same time, in Aug 2011 versus Aug 2010 petroleum and diesel fuel rose in price by 24.6% and 29.9% respectively, and by 22.7% and 25.5% as compared with December 2010.
To note, in Jan-Aug 2011 0.2% deflation was fixed in the consumer market of Armenia, and 0.6% deflation was fixed in August alone.
