USD loans provided by Armenian banks dropped by 9.2% and AMD loans grew by 2.4%
ArmInfo. Last week (29 August-4 September) Armenian banks provided loans worth 26.1 bln AMD (2.4% weekly growth), and $38.3 mln (9.2% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (5-9 September) the banks bought $72.460 mln at the average exchange rate of 370.09 AMD/$1, and sold $78.9 mln at the average exchange rate of 371.43 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).  Currency purchase and sale operations worth $590 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 372.41 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 5 to 9 September.  
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $5.770 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 372.27 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 8 September - $2.2 mln and 5 September - $1.670 mln.
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since early 2011, by 9% over Q2, and the annual growth was 40.6%.
