In Q3 2011 economic activity index in Armenia dropped to 99.9%


ArmInfo. In Q3 2011 the economic activity index in Armenia dropped from 106.7% to 99.9% (the annual index being 99.9%). The business climate index dropped from 107.8% to 104.7% (the annual index being 101%).

The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia reports that economic activity grew in industry and trade. In services it declined, in construction - did not change.

The business climate index grew in services. In other sectors it dropped.

The index is based on the average ratio of assessments and expectations by entities participating in the CB's survey.

The survey has been held since 2005 among acting industrial, construction, retail trade and other companies. The methodology is based on the principles of the Conference Board (the UNited States) and the IFO (Germany).
