Weekly growth of AMD loans provided by Armenian commercial banks is 11.9%, and weekly decline of USD loans is 1.3%
ArmInfo. Last week (5-11 September) the commercial banks of Armenia provided AMD loans worth 29.2 bln drams (11.9% weekly growth) and USD loans worth $37.8 mln dollars (1.3% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo.
According to the source, in the intrabank currency market the banks bought $79.5 mln (9.6% weekly growth) at the exchange rate of 373.98 AMD/$1, and sold $78.6 mln (0.4% weekly decline) at the exchange rate of 375.53 AMD/$1 on September 12-17 2011. In the interbank the currency purchase and sale operations worth $750 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 375.68 AMD/$1.
On 12-17 September currency purchase and sale operations worth $15.2 mln were carried out at NASDAQ OMX Armenia at the average exchange rate of 375.75 AMD/$1. The maximum volume of transactions was fixed on 13 September - $7.2 mln and 16 September - $4.050 mln.
By 1 July 2011 the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.2 billion, having increased by 17.8% since early 2011, and by 9% over Q2 2011 alone. The annual growth made up 40.6%.
