Metal prices on decline
ArmInfo. This week the gold and silver prices in Armenia dropped by 2.4%, the platinum and palladium prices - by 2.9% with the average drop being 2.7%.
According to the State Precious Metal and Stone Depository of Armenia, the prices of precious meals for Sept 19-25 2011 are as follows: one gram of gold (standard bars) - 21857.21 AMD (2.2% weekly decline), one gram of silver - 488.34 AMD (2.6% weekly decline), one gram of platinum - 21,830.94 AMD (1.8% weekly decline) and one gram of palladium - 8,730.87 AMD (4.1% weekly decline).
Since early 2011, gold in Armenia has grown in price by 36.3%, silver - by 44.1%, platinum - by 9.5%, palladium - by 0.1%. The average growth in precious metal prices since early 2011 is 22.5%. Over Q1 2011 precious metals rose in price by 9.7% and over Q2 2011 - by 2.5%.
Over Q1 gold and silver rose in price by 17.2%, while platinum and palladium - by 2.2%, and over Q2 gold grew in price by 8.8%, platinum and palladium - by 1.5%, while silver dropped by 1.6%. In total, over Q1 2011 precious metals grew in price by 12.3% mostly due to the considerable growth of silver prices (by 26.5%) and gold prices (by 15.1%), while platinum and palladium grew in price by 3-4%. In June precious metals dropped in price by 4%, then again started growing starting 10 July mostly due to the growth in silver and palladium prices. In July precious metals grew in price almost by 4%: gold and silver - by 5.6%, and platinum and palladium - by 2.2%. In August (1- 29.08.2011) the precious metals grew in price by 5% due to the growth in price of gold by 14.3%, silver - by 5.4%, platinum - by 4.9%, while palladium dropped by 4.6%. Over the first decade of September precious metals rose in price by 2.2%: gold - by 4%, silver - by 1.5%, platinum - by 1.3%, palladium - by 1.9%. Over the second decade of September the precious metals dropped in price by 1.4%: gold by almost by 1%, silver - by 0.8%, platinum - by 0.4%, palladium - by 5.2%.
