Last week Armenian banks provided loans worth 25 bln AMD and $28 mln
ArmInfo. Last week (12-18 September) Armenian banks provided loans worth 25 bln AMD (14.4% weekly decline) and $28 mln (26% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (19-23 September) the banks bought $70.4 mln at the average exchange rate of 373.49 AMD/$1, and sold $78.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 374.89 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $850 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 373.72 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 19 to 23 September.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $9.750 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 375.72 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 19 September ($3.1 mln).
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since early 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011, and the annual growth is 40.6%.
