USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly drop by 33% and AMD loans - by 30%
ArmInfo. Last week (3-9 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 23.6 bln AMD (30% weekly decline) and $37.5 mln (33% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (10-14 October) the banks bought $81.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 374.99 AMD/$1, and sold $87.1 mln at the average exchange rate of 376.47 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $1.1 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 376.7 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 10 to 14 October.   
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $6.75 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 375.62 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 13 and 14 October ($2.550 mln and $2.4 mln respectively). No operations were registered on October 11 and 12.
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD, or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since earlier 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011 (40.6% y-o-y growth).
