Precious metals fall in price by 11.2% since October
ArmInfo. This week the gold and silver prices in Armenia rose by 2.9%, the platinum and palladium prices rose in price by 3.1%, with the average growth being 3%. According to the State Precious Metal and Stone Depository of Armenia, the prices of precious meals for Oct 17-23 2011 are as follows: one gram of gold (standard bars) - 20146.09 AMD (1.7% weekly growth), one gram of silver - 386.79 AMD (4.1% weekly growth), one gram of platinum - 18480.38 AMD (2.7% weekly decline) and one gram of palladium - 7341.88 AMD(3.6% weekly decline).
Since early 2011, gold in Armenia has grown in price by 25.6%, silver - by 14.2%, platinum and palladium have dropped in price by 7.3% and 16% respectively.
The average growth in precious metal prices since early 2011 is 4.1%. Over Q1 2011 precious metals rose in price by 9.7%, over Q2 2011 - by 2.5%, over Q3 - by 3.9%. Over the first half of 2011 precious metals grew in price by 12.3% mostly due to considerable growth in prices of silver (by 26.5%) and gold (by 15.1%), while platinum and palladium prices grew by 3-4%.
In July precious metals grew in price almost by 4%: gold and silver - by 5.6%, and platinum and palladium - by 2.2%. In August (1- 29.08.2011) the precious metals grew in price by 5% due to the growth in price of gold by 14.3%, silver - by 5.4%, platinum - by 4.9%, while palladium dropped by 4.6%. In September precious metals dropped in price almost by 5%: gold - by 1.2%, silver - by 7.4%, platinum - by 4.2%, palladium - by 6.4%.
Over Q3 gold rose in price by 15%, silver - by 6.7%, platinum - by - 1.2%, and palladium fell in price by 7.4%. Since October metals dropped in price by 11.2%, particularly, gold - by 5.1%, silver - by 15.4%, platinum - 12.1%, and palladium - 12.2%.
