Real effective exchange rate down 0.5% over July 2011
ArmInfo. The real effective exchange rate in Armenia was down 0.5% in July 2011 as compared with June , and down 9.3% as compared with Dec 2010, having totaled 125.7, the Central Bank of Armenia reported.
In July 2011 vs July 2010, the decline of the real effective exchange rate made up 7.4%. To recall, over 2010 the decline of this index was registered in March, July, August, September, and October; growth was fixed in February, April, May, June, November and December. In 2011 the real effective exchange rate has been declining since the beginning of the year.
At the same, the nominal effective exchange rate in July 2011 vs June was up 2.2%, and down 7% vs Dec 2010, having totaled 216.4. In July 2011 vs July 2010, the nominal effective exchange rate dropped by 7.2%. Over 2010 the decline of this index was registered in March, July, August, October; growth was fixed in February, May, June, September, November and December. In 2011 the nominal effective exchange rate was declining since the beginning of the year, but rose in July.
