USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly grow by 12.8%, and AMD loans - by 13.1%
ArmInfo. Last week (10-16 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 26.7 bln AMD (13.1% weekly growth) and $42.3 mln (12.8% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (17-21 October) the banks bought $80.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 376.3 AMD/$1, and sold $99.1 mln at the average exchange rate of 377.57 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $2 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 375.89 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 17 to 21 October.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $16.8 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 378.26 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 19 and 20 October ($9.2 mln and $4.1 mln respectively). No operations were registered on October 17.
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD, or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since earlier 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011 (40.6% y-o-y growth).
