USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly drop by 7.8%, and AMD loans - by 3.8%
ArmInfo. Last week (17-23 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 24.6 bln AMD (7.8% weekly decline) and $40.7 mln (3.8% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (24-28 October) the banks bought $79.5 mln at the average exchange rate of 377.29 AMD/$1, and sold $86.4 mln at the average exchange rate of 378.54 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
No currency purchase and sale operations were carried out in the interbank currency market from 24 to 28 October. Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $11.7 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 378.26 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 26 and 25 October ($5.5 mln and $3.8 mln respectively). No operations were registered on October 24 and 27.
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD, or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since earlier 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011 (40.6% y-o-y growth).
