In Sept 2011 deposits at Armenian banks grew by 1.6% to $2.36bln
ArmInfo. In Sept 2011 the amount of deposits at Armenia's banks grew by 1.6% to $2.36bln or 877bln AMD.
30.4% of them or 266.9bln AMD ($710mln) were AMD deposits, 69.6% or $1.64bln (610bln AMD) - foreign exchange ones.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, non-resident deposits made up 21.8% of the total or 191.6bln AMD (3.7% growth in Sept 2011), with AMD deposits growing by 5.3% to 10.046bln AMD and foreign exchange ones - by 3.6% to 181.6bln AMD.
Resident deposits made up 78.2% of the total or 685.3bln AMD: 256.9bln AMD in AMD and 428.5bln AMD in foreign exchange. 37.7% of resident deposits or 258.5bln AMD were called deposits, 62.3% or 426.8bln AMD - time deposits.
In Sept 2011 the AMD deposit interest rate dropped from 9.28% to 9.01%. As compared with Sept 2010 - it grew by 0.07%.
