AMD loans provided by Armenian banks have weekly increased more than USD loans
ArmInfo. Last week (31 October - 6 November) Armenian banks provided loans worth 28.1 bln AMD (3.7% weekly growth) and $45.8 mln (1% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (7-11 November) the banks bought $62.1 mln at the average exchange rate of 381.85 AMD/$1, and sold $72.4 mln at the average exchange rate of 383.34 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Currency purchase and sale operations worth $400 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 383.69 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 7 to 11 November.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $13.990 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 384.74 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 11 and 8 November - $5.650 mln and $4.8 mln respectively.
To note, as of 1 Oct 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.3 bln, having increased by 24% since early 2011 and by 5.3% over Q3 alone (37.5% y-o-y growth).
