AMD loans provided by Armenian banks have weekly dropped by 20.3%, and USD loans – by 23.1%
ArmInfo. Last week (7-13 November) Armenian banks provided loans worth 22.4 bln AMD (20.3% weekly decline) and $35.2 mln (23.1% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (14-18 November) the banks bought $79.7 mln at the average exchange rate of 383.8 AMD/$1, and sold $90.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 385.17 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $600 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 384.17 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 14 to 18 November.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $16.7 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 384.56 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 16 and 17 November - $4.6 mln and 4 mln respectively, and on 14 November - $3.750 mln.
To note, as of 1 Oct 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD or $3.3 bln, having increased by 24% since early 2011 and by 5.3% over Q3 alone (37.5% y-o-y growth).
