INGO Armenia: "Tired" taxi drivers are responsible for each second road accident in Yerevan


ArmInfo. "Tired" taxi drivers, driving old cars round-the-clock, are responsible for each second road accident in Yerevan, Deputy CEO of INGO Armenia Arevshat Meliksetyan said during a press-conference on Friday.

He said that in Oct 2011 the amount of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance compensations reached the critical level and may even exceed it by the end of this year.

Earlier, the company said that the loss ratio for this type of insurance might reach 70% critical level by the end of the year.

Meliksetyan said that in the last months the amount of compensations has substantially increased due to bad weather and growing number of applications.

According to ArmInfo's Ranking of the Insurance Companies of Armenia, in Jan-Sept 2011 INGO Armenia collected the second biggest amount of premiums. In certain fields like automobile, cargo and air transport insurance, insurance of tourists, insurance against fires and natural calamities, medical insurance the company is the leader. During the same period INGO Armenia's asserts grew by 1.5 times to 6bln AMD.
