Armenia's Central Bank revises its economic growth forecasts
ArmInfo. Armenia's Central Bank has revised its economic growth forecast for 2011 to 3.9-4.5% and for Jan-Sept 2012 - to 3-4.6%.
This is lower than expected beforem and the main reason is the slowly recovering world demand and the pessimistic projections concerning the economic situation.
The industry is expected to register 11.8-13.8% growth in 2011 and 3.2- 5.2% growth in Jan-Sept 2012 - a bit higher than expected due to the growing activity of some local manufacturers, Construction will see 6.8-8.8% decline, with 3-5% growth expected in Jan-Sept 2012. Services will grow by 2.9-4.9% in 2011 and 1.7-3.7% in Jan-Sept 2012, agriculture - by 9.1-10.1% and 6-8%, respectively.
The CB says that the uncertainty coming from the economic slowdown in the world is having a negative effect on the Armenian economy, which may see a slower growth than was expected before.
