Over current week currency purchase and sale operations at NASDAQ OMX Armenia totaled $23.8 mln with almost 42% growth
ArmInfo. Over the current week (December 19-23) currency purchase and sale operations worth $23.8 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 382.83 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 19 and 21 December ($9.5 mln and $5.5 mln respectively).
The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo that currency purchase and sale operations worth $200 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 382.25 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 19 to 23 December. No operations with euros or rubles were fixed at the stock exchange or interbank market.
According to the source, over the current week the banks bought $109.5 mln at the average exchange rate of 381.70 AMD/$1, and sold $117.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 383.09 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period, the banks bought 7.7 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 496.61 AMD/1EUR, and sold 11.7 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 501.48 AMD/1EUR in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). In addition, the banks bought 712.3 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 11.9 AMD/1RUR, and sold 108.2 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 12.12 AMD/1RUR in the intrabank currency market.
Last week (12-18 December) Armenian banks provided loans worth 31.3 bln AMD (7.2% weekly growth) and $43 mln (11.7% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
