AMD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly drop by 1.8%, and USD loans grew by 0.9%
ArmInfo. Last week (26 December 2011 - 8 January 2012) Armenian banks provided loans worth 33.3 bln AMD (1.8% weekly decline) and $104.9 mln (0.9% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (9-13 January 2012) the banks bought $85.1 mln at the average exchange rate of 386.27 AMD/$1, and sold $113.4 mln at the average exchange rate of 387.3 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Over the same period the banks bought 4.7 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 492.89 AMD/1 EUR and 503.6 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 11.98 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 11.2 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 497.64 AMD/1 EUR and 73.4 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 12.32 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $3.950 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 386.1 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 9 to 13 January.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $18.6 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 388.28 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 10 January ($9.3 mln).
No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market.
