AMD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly grew by 9%, and USD loans grew by 33.8%
ArmInfo. Last week (16-22 January) Armenian banks provided loans worth 20.6 bln AMD (9% weekly growth) and $35.6 mln (33.8% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (23-27 January 2012) the banks bought $70.5 mln at the average exchange rate of 386.79 AMD/$1, and sold $83.9 mln at the average exchange rate of 388 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Over the same period the banks bought 6.8 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 501.7 AMD/1 EUR and 685.9 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 12.44 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 12.7 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 503.5 AMD/1 EUR and 94.7 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 12.67 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $2.4 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 387.3 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 23 to 27 January.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $18.3 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 387.91 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 23 January ($8.4 mln). No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market.
