Anelik Bank increased number of issued international plastic cards by 30% in 2011
ArmInfo. In 2011 Anelik Bank increased the number of the issued Visa and MasterCard plastic cards by over 6000 or by almost 30%, the press service of the Bank told ArmInfo. The source added that this led to 35% growth in the number of transactions with the international cards.
"The Bank attaches much importance to the given indicator, which demonstrates the read effectiveness of the cards issued. Anelik Bank has gained this result thanks to the development of the payment and settlement systems and correct elaboration of banking services", Head of the Department of Card Operations with Anelik Bank David Ananyan said.
He said that the Bank also increased the number of POS-terminals by 10%. "The Bank is constantly working at creation of new competitive products and at elaboration of a more flexible policy. Anelik Bank always follows the innovations in the sphere of card business and improves its services", Ananyan said. He added that the cardholders of Anelik Bank will receive new surprises and opportunities in 2012.
According to the bulletin "Armenian Banks in Card Business" as of 30 Sept 2011 prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), Anelik Bank is on the list of the top ten leading banks of Armenia by the number of active cards with almost 40 thsd cards (21% y-o-y growth). In the total number of the Bank's active cards, the share of international cards is 68.5% (the major part of them being Visa cards), with the y-o-y growth being almost 30%, and the share of local ArCa cards is 31.5%, with the y-o-y growth being 6%. The share of salary cards is nearly 64%, with the y-o-y growth being 23%. By the number of POS-terminals, Anelik Bank is among the top five leaders with 416 POS-terminals (11% y-o-y growth). The Bank has 40 ATMs, most part of them being in Yerevan (34 ATMs, with the y-o-y growth being 42% or 10 ATMs). The volume of transactions with the Anelik Bank's cards grew over 80% a compared with the same period of 2010.
