USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly drop by 31.5%
ArmInfo. Last week (6-8 February 2012) Armenian banks provided loans worth 26.7 bln AMD (no changes as compared to the previous week) and $43.1 mln (31.5% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (13-17 February 2012) the banks bought $73.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 388.36 AMD/$1, and sold $86.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 389.3 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period the banks bought 6.9 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 510.85 AMD/1 EUR and 552.6 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 12.85 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 12.7 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 513.32 AMD/1 EUR and 59 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 13.04 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $1.85 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 388.84 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 13 to 17 February.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $17.89 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 389.08 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 16 and 17 February ($5.6 mln and $7.3 mln respectively). No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange, while in the interbank market transactions with EUR totaled 50 thsd EUR at the average exchange rate of 512.95 AMD/EUR1, and no transactions with RUR were carried out.
