USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly dropped by 36.2%, and AMD loans grew by 6%
ArmInfo. Last week (20-26 February 2012) Armenian banks provided loans worth 25.1 bln AMD (6% weekly growth) and $33.3 mln (36.2% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (27 Feb-2 March 2012) the banks bought $85.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 388.25 AMD/$1, and sold $95.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 389.23 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period the banks bought 5.4 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 518.78 AMD/1 EUR and 526.8 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.2 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 11.017 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 522.86 AMD/1 EUR and 80.5 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 13.45 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $650 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 388.82 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 27 Feb to 2 March.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $10.330 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 388.55 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 1 March ($3.59 mln).
No transactions were registered at the stock exchange on Feb 27. No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market from Feb 27 to March 2.
