Money supply in Armenia fell 2.8% to $2.8 bln for Jan 2012
ArmInfo. Money supply in Armenia fell 2.8% for Jan 2012, and grew 25.1% versus Jan 2011, to 1.1 trillion drams ($2.8 bln) as of Feb 1 2012. By preliminary data of the Central Bank provided by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in the structure of money supply, cash in circulation outside the banking system fell 8.7% for Jan 2012 (up over 15.8% versus Jan 2011) to 319 bln drams. The share of deposits in terms of the national currency (AMD) in total money supply was 27.4% or to 300.4 bln drams (down for Jan), with the share of currency deposits being 43.5% or 476.7 bln drams.
Foreign assets fell almost 3fold for Jan 2012, from positive level to negative 8 bln drams. Internal assets fell 1.2% (up over 12fold versus Jan 2011) to 1.1 trillion drams as of Feb 1. In the structure of internal assets, liabilities to the government proved at the negative level of 30.9 billion drams (up 4fold for Jan).
In addition, the share of economy was 1,3 trillion drams (up 3.3% for Dec). The share of organizations was 782.7 billion drams (up 4.4% for Jan), the share of households was 516.4 bln drams (down 5.1% for Jan) and the share of non-commercial enterprises was 22 billion drams (up nearly twofold for Jan).
