In 2011 deposits of Armenian banks grew by 45% to 1.014trl AMD
ArmInfo. In Jan 2012 as compared with Jan 2011 the deposits of Armenia's banks grew by 45% to 1.014trl AMD or $1.9bln. In Jan 2012 alone the index grew by 4.5%.
AMD deposits made up 29.9% of all deposits or 303bln AMD ($783.3mln), foreign exchanges deposits - 70.3% or $1.83bln (710.9bln AMD).
The National Statistical Service reports that non-resident deposits made up 24.1% of all deposits or 244.3bln AMD (17.8% growth in Jan 2012), wherein AMD deposits grew by 16% to 13bln AMD and foreign exchange ones - by 17.9% to 231.3bln AMD.
Resident deposits made up 75.9% of all deposits or 769.6bln AMD: 289.9bln AMD were AMD deposits, 479.6bln AMD - foreign exchange ones. Resident call deposits made up 34.8% of all deposits or 267.6bln AMD, resident time deposits - 65.2% or 502bln AMD.
The interest on AMD deposits dropped from 10.29% to 10.1% in Jan 2012 alone and grew by 1.36% as compared with Jan 2011.
