Agriculture Ministry: About 17 bln drams to be directed to subsidizing of agriculrure credits in 2012
Arminfo. About 17 bln drams will be directed to subsidizing of the agriculrure credits in 2012, the first deputy agriculture minister, Grisha Bagyan, said at today's press-conference when replying to Arminfo correspondent's question. This year along with subsidizing, seeds and nitrogenous fertilizers will be also delivered to farmers on easy terms (50 kg for 6thsd drams) and diesel fuel (350 AMD/1l.), - he said.
Thanks to starting of the state programme on subsidizing of agriculture credits in 2011, agriculture production grew by 14% by the results of the year, he said and added that 15 bln drams were directed to subsidizing within the frames of this state programme in 2011.
He said that 54 thsd tons of meat were imported to Armenia in 2011 and 127 thsd tons produced in Armenia. "Last year we did not manage to provide the local market with the needed volume of meat. The great majority of the imported meat is poultry", - Bagyan said. As for the quality of the imported meat, he said that the Food Safety Inspection has been always testing it.
