Ara Babloyan: Compulsory medical insurance to considerably reduce corruption risks
ArmInfo. Compulsory medical insurance will considerably reduce the corruption risks, Chairman of the Armenian Standing Parliamentary Commission on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood, Ara Babloyan, said at today's press conference.
He recalled that since early 2012 a social package has been introduced in Armenia for state workers in the spheres of culture, education and social security. The package costs 132 thsd AMD per annum, of which 52 thsd AMD falls on medical insurance.
Babloyan stressed that the value of the medical services fixed in the insurance agreement will be coordinated with the Armenian Healthcare Ministry and Finance Ministry. In addition, in case the medical employees demand additional funds from the patient, the insurance companies will be able to protect their customers' rights and, in extremis, to terminate the contract with the medical establishment. All this will allow considerably decreasing the corruption risks and will make medical service more affordable for the population.
