Over past two weeks Armenian banks provided loans worth 53.3 bln AMD and $94.1 mln
ArmInfo. Last week (27 February - 11 March) Armenian banks provided loans worth 53.3 bln AMD and $94.1 mln, the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo.
According to the source, from 5 to 16 March 2012 the banks bought $135 mln at the average exchange rate of 388.77 AMD/$1, and sold $136.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 389.83 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period the banks bought 7.78 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 509.6 AMD/1 EUR and 887.6 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.08 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 23.3 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 512.44 AMD/1 EUR and 143.5 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 13.29 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $2.250 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 389.66 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 5 to 16 March.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $27.8 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 389.56 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 7 March ($9.55 mln). No transactions were registered on the stock exchange on 12 and 14 March.
No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market from 5 to 16 March.
