In 2011 foreign investments in Armenia totaled $1.54bln


ArmInfo. In 2011 foreign investments in Armenia grew by 6.3% to $1.54bln.

The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that $813.3mln were direct foreign investments (15.1% growth), $829.9mln - other investments (0.8% decline) and $10.8mln - portfolio investments (11.7% decline).

Over 50% of the investments or $830mln were loans: $103.8mln were short-term loans, $726.1mln long-term loans. 41% ($284mln) of the loans were borrowed by government agencies, 34% by commercial banks ($234.5mln).
