Top three sectors in terms of salaries: financial, information and communications, mining
ArmInfo. The financial sector is retaining leadership in terms of salaries that averaged 281895 drams ($729) as of Feb 1 2012 with 5.4% annual growth. By data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia provided to ArmInfo, the second position in terms of the salaries belong to the information and communications sector - 251838 drams ($651) with 5.8% annual growth. The third position belongs to the mining sector - 242496 drams ($627) with 12.7% growth.
The lowest salary is in the culture, rest and entertaining sectors - 63854 drams ($165) with 5.4% annual growth. The highest annual growth was registered in the agricultural, forest and fishing sectors - 19.9%, amid the steepest decline of salary in the construction sector - 5.2% (to 127465 drams or $330).
The average salary in Yerevan as of Feb 1 2012 amounted to 122409 drams ($316, up 6.6% versus Feb 2011), the salary in the Center Community was the highest - 140878 drams ($364, up 7.2%). In the regions the salary averaged 94493 drams ($244, up 6.7%). The highest salary was in Syunik region (town of Kapan), Kotayk region (town of Hrazdan), and Armavir region (town of Armavir).
The average salary in Armenia grew 2.4% for Feb 2012, and 6.5% versus Feb 2011 to 112074 drams ($290), in particular, salary at the budgetary organizations averaged 89927 drams ($233, up 6.6%), and at non-budgetary organizations - 138786 drams ($359, up 6.1%).
