CB: In Q4 2011 premiums of Armenia's insurance companies grew by 16.4% while compensations by 36%
ArmInfo. In Q4 2011 the premiums of Armenia's insurance companies grew by 16.4% to 22.3bln AMD while the compensations by 36% to 8.1bln AMD.
The Central Bank of Armenia reports that in 2011 the indices grew by three and five times, respectively.
The share of reinsurance in the premiums and the compensations made up 2.8bln AMD (39.3% quarterly growth and 43.1% annual decline) and 686mln AMD (25.2% quarterly and 28.3% annual growth), respectively.
As of Jan 1 2012 the own capital of the companies totaled 13.9bln AMD (4% quarterly and 11.6% annual decline), the assets 31.4bln AMD (8.8% quarterly and 22.7% annual growth), the accumulated profit 1.568bln AMD (27.7% annual decline). In Q4 2011 the companies registered 115mln AMD loss against 97mln AMD loss in Q3 2011.
