Last week AMD loans provided by Armenian banks grew by 25.6% and USD loans - by 56%
ArmInfo. Last week (26 March 2012 - 1 April 2012) Armenian banks provided loans worth 33.8 bln AMD (25.6% weekly growth) and $74 mln (56% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (2-6 April 2012) the banks bought $70.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 390.52 AMD/$1, and sold $95.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 391.64 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period the banks bought 6.1 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 517.01 AMD/1 EUR and 462.9 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.18 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 11.2 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 519.35 AMD/1 EUR and 57.4 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 13.38 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $600 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 391.5 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 2 to 6 April.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $15.57 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 391.36 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 3 and 5 April ($6.5 mln and $5.3 mln respectively). No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market.
