ArmInfo. In 2012 VTB Bank (Armenia) is going to outrun the country's retail lending market by 20-30%, Head of the Retail Business Development Unit of VTB Bank (Armenia) Artak Khachatryan said during a press-conference on Friday.
He said that in 2011 the bank increased its retail loan book by 44% and is planning almost the same growth for this year due mostly to novelties in auto lending and card business.
Chairman of the Board of VTB24 Bank (Russia) Mikhail Zadornov said that VTB Group's retail business is very successful in Russia and gave the group almost $1bln in net profit. He said that Armenia's retail lending market has good growth prospects and that VTB Bank (Armenia)'s lombard lending activity is unique for VTB Group.
Acting CEO of VTB24 Bank Yuri Gusev said that in the last two years the bank's retail loan book has grown by 120% to 58.3bln AMD, with the share of overdue and restructured loans being just 4.6%.
According to the Ranking of Commercial Banks of Armenia prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), in 2011 VTB Bank (Armenia) increased its loan book by 57% to 134.1bln AMD (3rd place among the Armenian banks).
